MTSI is seeking a System Architect to support program a within AFLCMC. This position will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining robust data architectures that enable advanced mission planning, autonomy integration, and secure information sharing in support of next-generation air combat operations. This is a highly collaborative role working with cross-functional teams including software developers, systems engineers, and program stakeholders to ensure high-performance, resilient, and secure database systems across multiple classification levels.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain complex, distributed database solutions that support real-time mission data flow and analysis.
  • Define and implement data models, schemas, and interface specifications for system-of-systems environments.
  • Lead database integration efforts across autonomy, AI/ML, and mission planning components.
  • Support data integrity, synchronization, and secure data transmission in multi-domain operations.
  • Collaborate with cyber and systems security engineers to meet DoD compliance and accreditation standards.
  • Document database architectures, processes, and configurations to support lifecycle sustainment.
  • Participate in design reviews, architecture working groups, and program integration meetings.


Qualifications


Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade databases.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar).
  • Strong background in database performance tuning, data replication, and backup strategies.
  • Experience with secure, distributed data architectures in defense or aerospace environments.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Desired
  • Experience supporting USAF program offices.
  • Knowledge of autonomy-enabling data systems or sensor fusion.
  • Familiarity with DoD data compliance standards (e.g., RMF, IL5/6, CJCSI 6211).
  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Database Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator.
