Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Networks Engineer. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and sustainment of secure, high-availability network environments supporting advanced Department of Defense (DoD) weapon system programs. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, mission-critical connectivity aligned with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain secure network architectures for classified and unclassified environments.
- Support integration of weapon system networks, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity and accreditation standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues in operational and test environments.
- Implement network security best practices including firewalls, encryption, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, status reports, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with system administrators, software engineers, and program managers to achieve program objectives.
- Support customer meetings, technical reviews, and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in network engineering, design, or operations.
- Hands-on expertise with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network security appliances.
- Knowledge of DoD networking environments, RMF processes, and DISA STIGs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
Desired Qualifications
- Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting weapon system or mission-critical networks.
- Familiarity with cloud and virtualized network environments.
- Strong communication skills and experience interfacing with government customers.
