The Operational Staff Support will provide outstanding, direct support to the Department of Defense (DoD) customers through the development and support of staff actions. They will support the customer Program Director and Program Managers by advising government organizational execution to ensure the DoD maintains military capabilities that are greater than parity. This position will be located in Crystal City, Virginia.
Other Duties Include;
- Analyzes data and processes to provide staffing mechanisms and pathways to DoD leadership
- Advises management on the content and interpretation of authorities, policies, and staffing mechanisms
- Utilizes software to conduct analyses and manage staff processes
- Recommends alternative staffing solutions to management based on available data
- Implements new data or analysis processes based on changing conditions
- May develop documentation and policies on staff actions, transformation and deployment of staff processes, reports and requirements
- May engage in requirements gathering with clients or other partners
- May review staff processes for additional validation and execution integrity, oversee deployment of staff actions
- May test staff management solutions, trialing tools and software that improve process development and end user experience
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in operational staffing
- Experience with tactical command of operational headquarters staffing of MICONs or CONOPs
- Experience with operations staffing through a COCOM to SECDEF or higher approval
- Experience with acquisition programs and/or acquisition policy & processes
- Experience with developing and coordinating the staffing packages and navigating staffing processes up to the Joint Staff or Secretary of Defense level.
- At least 5 years working in a SAP or SCI environment
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the Department of Defense staffing process, program planning and execution DESIRED
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Clearance requirement:
- Must have a current TS/SCI clearance and be eligible for special program access
