MTSI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.
Responsibilities:
- Performs tasks with little or no guidance or leads the execution of complex tasks.
- Has demonstrated knowledge in the area of engineering expertise. Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, and associated support systems.
Required Experience & Qualificiations:
- Must have a master’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or scientific field from an accredited college or university, plus an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
- Must have ten (10) or more years or more recent and relevant experience, with three (3) of the ten (10) must be directly related to DoD systems
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
- Must be a US Citizen
