In this role you will get to define and evaluate Missile Defense System (MDS) capability trade space envelope, architectural performance metrics, and other high-level performance metrics as applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Scopes, executes and documents the results of MDS architecture trade studies as a member of the Architecture Design Team
- Supports the development of Initial Requirements Documents, Architecture Requirements Packages, and other systems engineering artifacts related to the MDS, as applicable
- Supports the development of alternative architecture concepts addressing projected capability gaps, real world threats, and intelligence community threat estimates
- Leads and coordinates the development of architecture requirements, development, and analysis in support of Service and Combatant Commands (CCMD) needs
- Leads, develops, and coordinates MDA vision and strategies to support the Warfighter, including coordinating with DoD, Joint Staff, Services, CCMDs, Intel Community (IC), Other Governmental Agencies (OGA), national labs, Industry and international partners
- Supports the Architecture Design Team to scope and define trade study methodologies, measures and deliverables
- Supports activities of the Architecture Design Team; provides, develops and delivers briefings addressing applicable trade study efforts; provides comment and review to work products developed by other Working Group members
- Coordinates future technology requirements across the breadth of MDA and with DoD, Joint Staff, Services, the IC, and OGAs
- Coordinates trade study related activities and work products with teammates across the Architecture Design Team and external MDA stakeholders as applicable
Qualifications:
- Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of relevant experience
- Active Secret clearance
- Familiarity with DOD and MDA processes and procedures
- Possesses detailed knowledge of the MDS to include Command and Control networks
- Ability to successfully accomplish duties with minimal guidance
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Preferred Navy veteran that held a position such as an Aegis Weapon System EDO or Joint Interface
- Control Officer, or alternatively an Army/Air Force veteran that understands MDS Elements such as THAAD/LTAMDS/Sentinel/ PATRIOT/GMD
- Understands the MDS technically more than what we typically think of as an “Architect” in the Systems Engineering sense
