INSTRUCTOR FLIGHT TEST ENGINEER – SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) – FULL-TIME/PART-TIME - 1133901604327

The following specific duties are anticipated:
- Instruct on aerospace vehicle performance, flying qualities, systems, and flight test management, including ground and airborne conduct of flight test.
- Teach curriculum topics to include aircraft flying qualities & flight test techniques, augmented flight control systems, stores testing & structures, limit cycle oscillations & flutter, aircraft departure from controlled flight, military standards evaluations, first flight test & evaluation, avionics integration, and human factors.
- Other duties in-line with MTSI’s core value to “Own and Solve our Customer’s Problems.”
Required:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight tests and a reputation of being a team player.
- Experience running missions from a Mission Control Room.
- Experience Instructing Undergraduate or higher-level curriculum.
- Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of a flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of discipline engineers to support Flight Test Operations.
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Experience generating test plans, flight test mission material, post-mission, and detailed final reports.
- Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers’ requirements and need.
Qualifications Desired:
- USAF Test Pilot School Graduate
- Developmental Test experience
- Experience Instructing Flight Test Engineers at either USAF TPS, Navy TPS, National TPS, or USAFA
- Experience with IADS
Education Requirements:
Required - Master’s degree in a STEM field.
Desired – PhD in a STEM field.
Travel:
Travel up to 10% may be required for this position.
Clearance Requirements:
Secret clearance is required.

The pay range for this position in California is $XXX,0000/annually to $XXX,000/annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
