MTSI is seeking an experienced Mission Systems Engineer to support the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program at Wright-Patterson AFB. This role is critical to advancing the Air Force’s Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) family of systems, specifically enabling autonomous and semi-autonomous aircraft to operate seamlessly with manned platforms.

You will lead efforts to design, develop, and integrate advanced mission systems that enable secure, resilient, and interoperable operations across multi-domain environments. This position offers the opportunity to work on one of the Air Force’s highest priority programs, directly contributing to the future of air dominance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Mission Systems Design & Development: Architect and update mission systems supporting collaborative combat aircraft and multi-domain operations.
  • Mission Architecture & Integration: Engineer and integrate secure, multi-level systems enabling manned/unmanned teaming.
  • System Performance & Scalability: Conduct performance modeling, capacity planning, and resilience analysis to ensure mission effectiveness at scale.
  • Engineering Process & Assurance: Establish processes for compliance, updates, and threat mitigation; create documentation and train users on effective implementation.
  • Mission Analysis & Implementation: Align system solutions with CCA operational concepts and strategic Air Force objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Air Force, industry, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated capabilities.
  • Security & Compliance: Support cybersecurity audits, implement mitigations, and ensure multi-domain system certification.
  • Lifecycle Documentation: Produce technical documentation including configuration records, architecture diagrams, and training materials.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Expertise in mission systems architecture, hardware/software integration, and secure configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing), multi-level security systems, and operational analysis.
  • Experience with mission analysis tools and/or multi-domain system platforms.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Elastic, Splunk, or similar mission analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with modeling & simulation for mission analysis (e.g., digital engineering environments).
  • Certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, ITIL v4, or cybersecurity credentials.
  • Prior experience in secure, multi-domain, manned/unmanned teaming environments.
