Position Overview
As a Project Control Specialist with MTSI you will provide high-quality project control for the National Security Division’s (NSD) largest contract with the opportunity to expand your portfolio. You will assist the program’s lead Project Control Specialist in maintaining solid financial execution with a focus on procurement activities while enabling the PM to remain highly engaged with customer product and service delivery. Position is remote/hybrid based in Colorado Springs, CO.

Role and Responsibilities*
Receive and review quotes from Procurement, assess funding availability, and initiate approval for purchasing. Enter purchase requisitions into the financial system. Track receipt of items for timely and correct invoicing, interfacing with Procurement teammates where necessary. Submit vendor invoices into financial system for payment. Additionally, at times support the program’s lead Project Control Specialist in the following activities: Work with project control team to provide financial metrics to the PMO and corporate functional areas; perform program- and BU-level contract performance analysis; track and manage program funding, costs, revenue, and profit at all levels; manage direct hours, materials, ODCs, and travel expenses for the prime and all teammates and vendors; ensure all travel is planned, coordinated, approved, executed, and reported within the guidance and regulations set forth by program and the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), including approval of expense reports and subcontractor expense invoices; ensure accuracy of invoices prior to submission; coordinate, prepare, and submit contract deliverables in a timely manner; provide inputs for division-level data analysis of financial performance; act as liaison between PMO and corporate functional staff; bottom-up build for budget projections.

Qualifications and Education Requirements*

REQUIRED:
  • Minimum 2 years directly-related professional experience
  • Past work with multiple contract types (Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price)
  • Experience reviewing and approving vendor invoices for accuracy and ensuring information is booked into the system accordingly
  • Proficiency tracking bill holds and accruals to closure across billing cycles
  • Experience calculating and providing accrual data
  • General understanding of the FAR
  • Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint or similar tool
  • Microsoft Excel experience – Intermediate or higher
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Math from an accredited college or university

DESIRED:
  • 5-8 years directly-related professional experience
  • Past work with large subcontractor teams
  • Past work with a large Time & Materials program type
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and Business Intelligence
  • Experience with Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders in Deltek
  • Working knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Current Secret Clearance desired

  • Place of work is Colorado Springs, CO. Work is remote/hybrid. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.

The pay range for this position is $88,500/annually to $115,000/annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
