Washington, DCAs a Airworthiness Support Engineer with MTSI you will perform activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for mutli-domain systems, and recommend solutions. This position will be located in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Development and management of system hazard analyses and risk assessments
- Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
- Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
- Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
- Consult with client to define need or problem
- Supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice
Required Experience:
- 15+ years' experience working on Air Force platforms
- Technical & regulatory experience in achieving airworthiness certification
- Familiarization with and fulfillment of requirements in AFI 62-601 (USAF Airworthiness Certification), DoDI 5030.61 (DoD Airworthiness Policy), and MIL-STD-882E (System Safety)
- System configuration management experience
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in a related field
- Master's Degree DESIRED
Clearance Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with current or previous SAP
