This Senior Technical Project Manager will provide project management and technical oversight of customer development efforts. Initial support is focused on leading a T-2 modification design effort for a new test capability on the customer’s T-38s. The Senior Technical Project Manager will assist the 586th FLTS team with the creation and coordination of cost, schedule, and contracts documentation and assist with the planning and execution of multiple technology development efforts. Duty location is Remote + 25% travel to Holloman AFB, NM
Responsibilities:
- Provide project management, leadership, and technical oversight of customer development/test efforts.
- Perform project manager duties to ensure efficient execution of assigned efforts.
- Work closely with 586th FLTS leadership and their customers, lead project engineers, contracts, finance, and program teams.
- Coordinate procurement of subcontractors to perform design and modification activities while adhering to MTSI and 586th processes, as required.
- Manage subcontractors supporting the 586th’s and their customer’s development/test efforts.
- Maintain awareness of day-to-day issues and plan/prepare for significant project events.
- Coordinate project direction, including technical development and financial execution.
- Provide technical support to the entire project team and provide status updates to the Government leadership team, activities include but are not limited to Aircraft surveys, design reviews, etc.
- Assist with identifying and mitigating risks to technology development projects.
- Review contract deliverables, integrated schedules, technical status reports, and cost performance reports and provide assessments to the Government team.
- Participate in working groups and team planning.

- Position allows for remote support +25% travel to Holloman AFB, NM.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight test projects and a reputation of being a team player.
- Experience performing Project Management activities for Department of Defense (DoD) projects.
- Experience implementing or support implementation of temporary modifications on test aircraft--e.g., T2 mods.
- Maturity and professionalism to lead development/test programs and oversee a multidisciplinary team to include subcontractors.
- Functional experience managing R&D projects, coordinating and planning for significant project events and milestones such as Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and test events; and tracking and evaluating contract deliverables.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytic acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
- Good interpersonal skills in an environment with top tier coworkers

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience providing technical support to DoD technology development/test efforts.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project for financial and schedule analysis of projects.
- Developmental Test or Operational Test experience involving rapid experimentation of military aircraft, avionics systems, weapons, live fires and releases, sensor testing, Electronic Warfare and RF/IR Countermeasures, and/or aero performance/flight envelope expansion.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any of the following: business, economics, program management, math, or engineering.
- Prefer DAWIA Program Manager Level 3, Science and Technology Management (STM) Level 3, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Clearance Requirements:
Required - Secret with ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility and SAP.
