As a Software Engineer with MTSI, you will utilize your Java and JavaScript experience to design, implement, and maintain real-time data ingestion infrastructure for a project using an agile development model. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Create and modify software which models satellite positions and simulates collection operations
- Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Assist with the testing and deployment of code in a secure cloud environment.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Actively participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
- Understanding of backend development fundamentals, including Node.js and RESTful API design.
- Experience working with Linux-based servers and systems.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, Mercurial).
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Necessary Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related field.
- Java Script
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL
- Basic Modeling and Simulation Experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Satellite Modeling and Simulation experience
- TypeScript experience
- Knowledge of relational databases
- Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Helm, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, computer science, data science, engineering, math, statistics, operations research, or related field.
Certifications Desired:
- DoD 8570 IAT level 3 (CompTIA Security+) compliant. (Desired)
Clearance Requirements:
- TS/SCI with eligibility for a CI Polygraph.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
