MTSI is seeking a Platform Cyber Vulnerability Test Engineer to support cybersecurity testing and evaluation of mission-critical air platforms. This role will focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber vulnerabilities in weapon systems, avionics, and platform-integrated technologies. You’ll work directly with government cybersecurity, test, and engineering teams to execute vulnerability assessments across development and operational environments. This position requires hands-on testing experience, familiarity with DoD cybersecurity standards, and a strong understanding of platform mission systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cyber vulnerability assessments on airborne platforms, embedded systems, and mission-critical subsystems.
- Develop test plans, threat models, and evaluation criteria based on system architecture and mission context.
- Execute penetration testing, red team assessments, and software/hardware exploit techniques in lab and field environments.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, test leads, and system engineers to define test objectives and interpret results.
- Document findings, mitigation recommendations, and support risk management decision processes.
- Interface with program stakeholders during test events, briefings, and engineering working groups.
- Ensure all testing activities align with DoD cybersecurity guidance and authorization frameworks.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity testing or cyber vulnerability assessment roles.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements (e.g., RMF, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253).
- Experience with penetration testing tools and techniques (e.g., Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nessus).
- Familiarity with avionics, mission systems, or platform-level architecture.
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
Desired
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), or similar certification.
- Experience working with AFLCMC, OTAs, or weapon system PMOs.
- Familiarity with cross-domain solutions and secure embedded systems.
- Experience conducting test events in laboratory, SIL, or platform-level environments.
- Strong technical writing and briefing skills.
