The IT Software/Computer Specialist is an entry/mid-level position that will work onsite at customer locations or remotely to field, upgrade, and troubleshoot government software/hardware for various customers in the United States and designated overseas locations.
- Configure and install government software modules onto customer owned devices to support individual customer requirements
- Test to ensure government software modules function as intended according to configurations
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and report discrepancies identified with government owned software
- Ability to train the functions of software to customers of varying technical ability
- Ability to write detailed reports of work performed on a weekly basis
Qualifications
- Security + required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
- Up to 3 years of related experience or College Courses
Required Skills
- Ability to communicate technical computer information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be compliant within 6 months with Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoDD 8570) Certification IAT Level II
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG) is desired
- Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve issues
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- ·Experience with Satellite Communication (SATCOM) and networking is a plus
- Must be able to travel up to 25%; with potential for short notice trips and extended length (2 weeks +)
