Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Advanced Network Engineer to join our team at Camp Pendleton, CA (Oceanside, CA) near San Diego CA. You will be working with a team that is tasked with test and evaluation services in a Test and Engineering Division to design and secure tactical and enterprise networks. The Advanced Network Engineer will perform deep packet inspections, analyze traffic, and improve efficiency. Administer firewalls, Linux/Windows systems, and virtual environments. Task for this position will include applying STIGs, patch vulnerabilities, and support military system testing. Research new technologies, document designs, and ensure operational readiness and cybersecurity compliance across diverse platforms.

Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• Minimum 7 years of demonstrated network engineering experience and documented advanced network training.
• Experience with VMware (vCloud).
• Experience with Data Storage technologies.
• Experience with System Administration of MS Windows Server or Linux.
• Experience with Security Boundary Technologies e.g., firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Experience with Network Modeling applications/tools (ex: GNS3).
• Experience with a Scripting Language (ex: Perl, Python, PowerShell, Linux Shell, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned to support team goals and maintain operational efficiency.

Certification Requirement:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD IAT Level 2 security certification.
• Certified in Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus.
• Cisco Certified Networking Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch), Desired.
• VMware Certified Professional Cloud Specialist, Desired.
• Certification in a Network Operating System (ex: MS Windows Server, Linux, etc.), Desired.
• Certification in IPv6, Desired.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology, or equivalent operational experience (desired).

Clearance Requirements:

• An active Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required to start in this position.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Travel Requirements:

• Travel for this position is anticipated to be 30%-50% within the Continental United States and 10%-25% outside the Continental United States.

The pay range for this position in is $110,000/year to $135,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
